What is Alesse?
Alesse is a birth control medication containing levonorgestrel and ethinylestradiol – a combination of estrogen and progestogen for an oral contraception. This means is applied to prevent pregnancy.
Levonorgestrel – a derivative of 19-nortestosterone – progestin, surpassing the activity of a corpus luteum hormone progesterone and its synthetic analog Praegninum. It performs at receptor level without prior metabolic transformations. The contraceptive effect is, above all, the ability to block gonadotrophin-releasing hormone, inhibit secretion of pituitary gonadotrophins (follicle-stimulating – FSH and luteinizing hormone – LH) and thus inhibit ovulation, preventing unwanted pregnancies. The contraceptive effect is enhanced by ethinylestradiol – a synthetic analog of follicular estradiol hormone involved in menstrual cycle implementation with luteosterone (progestin).
In addition to these mechanisms, this means prevents egg maturation, contraceptive effect is achieved due to the preservation of cervical mucus high viscosity, making it difficult for the sperm to penetrate into the uterus.
In addition to contraceptive effect, when taken regularly, Alesse has a therapeutic effect, normalizes the menstrual cycle and contributes to prevention of a number of gynecological diseases, including diseases of tumor nature.
The estrogen and progestin components in low dosages virtually have no effect on basic functions of central and peripheral nervous system, hemodynamics, digestive and other body systems.
The inclusion of certain preparations of ferrous fumarate can compensate for the loss
of a body of this element during the menstrual bleeding. Detailed information

Alesse and Alcohol Consumption
WHO experts (World Health Organization) do not recommend to use more than 20 mg of ethanol per day, which corresponds to 200 ml of wine, 50 ml of vodka or 400-500 ml of beer. You need to consider your individual dose of alcohol and does not exceed it. The first place for every woman must be taken by their own health and measure of all things.
If after consuming alcohol nausea or vomiting occur, refer to instructions for contraceptive and specify what time interval when vomiting takes place may reduce its effectiveness. Usually, this is the first 3-4 hours after ingestion. It must be remembered that only after this period of time, the active ingredients are absorbed and tablets start to perform.
Therefore, this is another reason to calculate drug action time, if you are planning
a party. If, however, still in the first 3-4 hours after taking the pill you start
