What is Amoxicillin?

Amoxicillin is an antibiotic which refers to the group of penicillins and possesses a broad spectrum of action.

The antibiotic inhibits the activity of harmful bacteria in the human body (staphylococcus, streptococcus, E. coli and many others). Amoxicillin kills these microbes, acting on the walls of their cells. However, the drug is destroyed in the body under the influence of the enzyme penicillinase (beta-lactamase). Not all bacteria are sensitive to the drug; there are bacteria that remain insensitive to this antibiotic. Get more details about what Amoxicillin is

Generic Product

Amoxicillin is a generic product – a drug with proven pharmaceutical, biological and therapeutic equivalence to the original preparation. That is, the generic drug has the same composition of active ingredients, dosage form, and effectiveness as the original drug, but has no patent protection.

Often generic drugs differ from the original one by secondary components. Generic drugs enter the market after the expiry of patent protection for the original drug.

The necessary requirement for the sale of generic drugs is a proven pharmaceutical, biological and therapeutic equivalence to the original. Read more about generic Amoxicillin

Children under 5 years of age usually take this antibiotic in the form of a suspension. Babies usually receive these pills on an outpatient basis, ie. in the treatment of mild forms of various diseases, most often – in case of SARS with bacterial complications, such as acute otitis, pharyngitis, tracheitis, bronchitis, skin infections, mild forms of intestinal infections. Sometimes – for the treatment of gastric ulcer and 12 duodenal ulcers, as well as for the prevention of recurrence of the disease. There are contraindications for use. It’s necessary to pay a special attention to children with bleeding disorders and impaired renal function when treated with these tablets. More details about Amoxicillin for children

Amoxicillin during Pregnancy

Amoxicillin during pregnancy is prescribed only if the anticipated benefits of the drug to the mother outweigh the possibility of harm to the fetus. Thus, doctors prefer not to take the risk. Had a strong bronchitis, could sleep only in sitting position, coughing tortured me all the time! I'm so grateful to the doctor that advised me Amoxicillin. I took 1 tablet and could sleep without problems the whole night. Earlier I was quite skeptical to such drugs and take them only in extra cases... But with Amoxicillin may recovery was faster than usual!

After suffering acute respiratory viral infection, I started coughing. Dry, hard, exhausting caught tortured me, especially at night. I tried different folk remedies and cough syrups - no effect. I decided it was the right time to hit the cough by heavy artillery. My choice was the "old" Amoxicillin. For some reason this antibiotic is not so fashionable nowadays, doctors often prescribe its full analogue - Amoxiclav, which is three times more expensive. I took Amoxicillin according to all the instructions, one capsule three times a day after meals. Three days later my cough subsided considerably and I recovered my sleep. Had no side effects. My conclusion - good medication.

A month ago the whole family fell sick. The doctor prescribed me Amoxicillin tablets which I ordered from Canadian Pharmacy Mall. In the evening there was no signs of fever. I sighed with relief - my baby could sleep again, eat and play - not just endlessly cry! We took Amoxicillin some more time, a total reception period made one week. Snot and cough gradually disappeared. The drug was taken by the whole family (all recovered), but as my year-old baby has a capricious organism (in the form of allergies and periodic indigestion), the experience of Amoxicillin application in this case seems very relevant to me!

Amoxicillin can be found in any local pharmacy by I order it from Canadian Health&Care Mall - the price really pleases me. I take tablets 3 times a day to treat angina, always after a meal - not to spoil the stomach. The only con is the tablets size: they are quite big - may be different to swallow. Don't know what helped me exactly, may be a complex approach, but the temperature was normal on that very day in the evening. Angina usually returns, if not treated completely. I took Amoxicillin 5 days long, completed the course, although there was no pain and the temperature was ok. Angina has gone for good, I'm happy.

I took Amoxicillin from Canadian Pharmacy Mall under doctor's prescription in combination with other agents. It was the cheapest drug from the list, I was surprised. I came home, read reviews and still hesitated. But then I decided to trust the opinion of a specialist and started taking this medicine. The drug required 2 days to completely remove the symptoms. No side effects. I also took Linex as an addition to Amoxicillin.

Reduced temperature and decreased symptoms of the disease indicate Amoxicillin efficacy. But do not expect an instant effect! The list of side effects contains different horror stories, but they are sooooo rare in real life. Never met them in my medical practice. All patients treated with Amoxicillin had no adverse reactions.
